G5 Branch Functions

  • To study the structure of all Departments, cadres and posts and provide the guidance to review and to frame the Recruitment Rules to all Departments.
  • To scrutiny and sanction the proposals of recruitment rules received from the Departments.
  • The isolated post of various Department / Offices, may be declared en-cadre post of parent Department instead of framing recruitment rules of such post, and to declare the nodel department for this purpose.
  • To create a common administrative cadre for administration under the administrative department.
  • To frame the common recruitment rules, re-organisation of structure of cadres, posts or departmental organisation.
  • Matter pertaining to Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
  • To grant the relaxation in the Recruitment Rules of relevant posts / cadres.
  • To accept or not to accept the recommendations / suggestions of the Gujarat Public Service Commission in respect of subjects allotted to the G.5- Branch
  • Interpretation of recruitment rules and other matters regarding recruitment rules.
